in hospital - how do I alert ebay why shipping is past due?
Hi. I am in the hospital unexpectledy, and haven't felt well enough to check ebay. Now I have some past due items to ship, and have notified the buyers of the issue. How do I tell ebay?

eBay doesn't usually allow extensions on shipping for illness, I know it's happened on VARY rare occasions with proof of hospitalization that late shipment defects were removed but I would not count on it.
I would ask the buyers if they wish to cancel the sale. Then if they say yes, cancel as buyer requested and refund. Then let them know you will hold on to the items and contact them when you are out of the hospital. Canceling as buyer requested, when the buyer asks, doesn't hurt your account.
The worst thing you can do for your account is not ship and then not refund IMMEDIATELY if a buyer asks because if eBay steps in you get a DEFECT which seriously hurts your account.
Sometimes CS agents will say what you want to hear too when on the phone so I wouldn't get too excited if they say don't worry about late shipping. They want to make the caller happy so they get a good rating on their service record.

Mentor1 year agoFirst, you need to put your items on Time away/vacation hold so that you don't sell anymore until you can ship.

There is no point in contacting eBay as the items are late already and can't be changed. There is no mechanism to tell eBay that they are late and putting your items on Away status is the best thing to do.
You may need to cancel the orders if the buyer does not agree to the delay.
