Improve Below Standard seller performance because of late shipping.
I’ve read all the information eBay has sent me and I still don’t understand what I need to do to get out of the dog house regarding late shipping. I sell sterling flatware and this happened in the run up to the chaos in the silver market.

A high late shipment rate on its own won't cause your account to be evaluated as Below Standard, but a low rate is required for Top Rated status.

If your recent seller rating is below standard, then you need to review cancelled orders and unresolved cases.

If you are currently below standard, then to get back above standard you must reduce your defect rate below 2%. You are evaluated on a rolling 12 months, so you can open your monthly breakdown on your dashboard to see when the defects will no longer be in the past 12 months, and how many new sales it would take to get below 2%.
Since you do not have a store and cannot put items on sale, the next best way to generate more sales is to find a small inexpensive item you can sell a bunch of - even if it is at cost or below - to get your volume up enough to pass the 2% bar. You’re paying an extra 6% in fees until you do, so it could be worth a small loss to end that quickly.
Good luck.
