immediate payment versus procrastination on shipment
WHY DOES EBAY ALOW A SELLER TO ADVERTISE AN ITEM FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME, AND THEN THE BUYER PAYS IMMEDIATELY WITH PAYPAL, THEN EBAY ALLOWS THE SELLER ANOTHER 5 DAYS TO SHIP AND THEN GIVES THE SELLER ANOTHER 5 DAYS FOR DELIVERY.........IN THIS ABOVE SCENARIO THE BUYER WAITS AND ENDURES OVER 17 DAYS FOR THE ENTIRE TRANSACTION....... IF THE BUYER PAY S IMMEDIATELY THEN THE SELLER SHOULD SHOW SAME COURTESY OF SHIPPING AND DELIVERY

OP2 years agoLOOK I HAVE BEEN DOING THIS ON EBAY FOR 25 YEARS, AND I AM VERY FAMILIAR WITH THIS ALL THIS **bleep**, YOU LEFT OUT THE TIME AND DATE OF THE SELLERS ADVERTISEMENT OF HIS AUCTION, AN IF THAT LET'S SAY IS 7 DAYS, AND THEN HE DOES NOT SHIP FOR ANOTHER 5 DAYS AND IF HE THEN SHIPS BY SLOW GROUND, THIS VERY WELL THEN CAN BE A 17/30 DAY TRANSACTION, AND NOT SELLING AND BUYING SHOULD EVER TAKE THAT LONG. THIS IS NOT THE CASE FOR MY CURRENT TRANSACTONS, ALL I AM SPELLING OUT IS THE FACT THAT SELLERS SHOULD NOT PROCRASTINATE IN THEIR DELIVERY. ESPECIALLY WITHE THE BUYER PAYS IMMEDIATELY, THE SAME COURTESY SHOULD BE DONE BY THE SELLER.

Mentor2 years agoHi @sonruptl
Sellers have 1 to 30 days to ship an item per eBay policy ... BUT they are expected to ship the item within their stated handling time AND delivered by the Estimated Delivery Date (EDD). How long an item has been listed has absolutely no bearing on how long a seller has to ship.
Are you checking listings for the EDD before purchasing items? That is we buyers' responsibility.
Many small sellers have other responsibilities besides selling on eBay ... like caring for small children or for an elderly and/or disabled adult ... and simply cannot ship daily just to be 'courteous'. I believe you are expecting too much from individual sellers.
The seller you left TWO neutral feedbacks actually delivered your items within the time they specified. Their handling time was listed as 'usually within 2 business days' ... and you purchased the items at 7:06pm (seller's time) on a Friday. Your complaint was that it took 8 days to be delivered. Everything else about the items 'was great' (your words). I don't believe the seller deserved their reputation being harmed.
I'm really sorry for coming across harshly ... especially since this appears to be your first time posting in the Community ... but I didn't know how to make you aware that your expectations of eBay (and the seller you punished) are unrealistic.
