Im totally getting ripped off and Ebay isnt doing anything.
So I sold a thermal optic for $1500 on here. I printed out the shipping label and took it to the UPS store. I shipped it with buyer signature required at drop off and tracking number. I got an email a couple of days later that said the buyer was claiming he didn't receive it. So I went to the UPS store to find out what happened. It turns out the tracking of the package shows that UPS attempted delivery to the buyer who was not home. Then the buyer clicked the option to have it dropped off at a different location that he could pick it up from. It was dropped off there and signed for. The buyer then claims when he went to get it from the lady at the drop off location she claims she did not have it. Ebay has refunded the buyer and charged me $250 dollars for the selling fee. What can I do?

-First question, did you manually ADD the tracking number to the original eBay sale? THAT is your protection against Buyers claiming that they did not receive their item. When they file the claim you go to the claim and upload the tracking number.
-An "Attempted" delivery on eBay tracking is viewed the SAME as a delivered package so you are protected if that happens.
-When you print your shipping labels through eBay tracking is automatically uploaded to the sold item, for your protection. And you get a DISCOUNT when you print your labels through eBay to help offset the eBay fees on the paid shipping from the Buyer.
-eBay recently implemented a new Seller protection when you PRINT YOUR LABELS THROUGH EBAY: If a Buyer files a claim that they did not receive their item and you refund through the claim AND then the package is eventually delivered eBay will reimburse you for the sale.
-If you never had tracking on the transaction there is nothing you can do, if you did not add tracking to the claim the Buyer made and the case closed without you refunding through the claim then the Buyer gets to keep the item, the money comes out of your pocket and you do not get your eBay fees back. Plus you get a defect on your account for not resolving the issue on the claim.
