I'm being Charged for a Bid I rejected
Summary: marwal-9010 shared their issue with being charged $1257.97 for a French horn after the seller accidentally accepted their offer. Though the seller promised to refund, the transaction has hit their bank account multiple times. mr_lincoln advised that the seller can cancel the transaction easily and suggested contacting customer service for further assistance. marwal-9010 considered filing a police report if the money is withdrawn.
2 weeks ago I made an offer on a french horn for $1100. The seller rejected it. I found a different horn and purchased it. Then the seller accepted my offer accidentally.
So my bank account is being pinged for $1257.97 which is the amount of the offer + shipping.
I messaged the seller. He apologized, and admitted he accidentally accepted the offer after he rejected it. He said there's no way to stop the sale now. And if I have enough money in that account, it will be charged and then "he promises to refund me".
I can't afford to risk $1257.97.
It has hit my bank 3 times already. It hit again today.
I'm desperate. Please help me protect my account

Mentor1 week agoOnce an offer is rejected it cannot later be accepted. I have no idea how this would even be possible. Tell the seller that they need to cancel the purchase (this is in their sold list) or you will take action against them.

Mentor1 week agoHi @marwal-9010
Sadly, the Seller is lying, if you have asked him to cancel the transaction it literally takes less than a minute to do so.
Message the Seller back and tell them the Cancellation process is easy for them to do and you would like the transaction cancelled. If they refuse or come up with some type of excuse then know that they are still lying.
You can reach out to eBay but I doubt they will do anything at this point in the transaction.

OP1 week agoThank you. I think I should call the police if he takes the money. I will file a theft charge.

You are more than welcome ... make sure you message the Seller and ask them to Cancel the order since they original declined your offer.
