Illogical VAT fee
Hi there,
I have bid on item located in Bulgaria, shipping to UK. Offer has been accepted by seller and from their end, the invoice looks exactly as expected - $43 for item and $30 for international shipping.
However, from my end, there is one more item - VAT $14.60.
I am very confused by that for number of reasons - firstly, UK doesn't impose VAT on goods under £135; and secondly, even if there should have been VAT added, then it surely should be on item price only, not on shipping.
However, $14.60 is either 34% VAT on item price, which is extreme VAT % or it is 20% VAT (seems more likely), however on shipping fee as well, which is unheard of.
Can anyone please advise what to do with this? Seller is being helpful and answering messages, but as they see invoice exactly as expected, there isn't much they can do.
