do you delete that listing, then make a brand-new listing at the higher price?

I wasn't thinking of Auction. Probably cuz I rarely do Auction now.
I meant the BIN price.

Mentor2 years ago@fredgsanford712 For the Buy It Now you're fine doing what I suggested. I like to end the listing, and then use sell similar, and revise the price. Then you delete the original from the unsold section. This way the listing has a new item number and re-indexes to the site. This is totally allowed within eBay rules.
By using Sell Similar instead of just changing the price on the fixed price listing it gets sent to the site as a NEW listing.
Ending and relisting using sell similar is a good idea too for stale listing that are more than a few months old for single quantity Buy It Now listings.

·2 years agoIt is specifically against the rules for a seller to cancel all bids and end the auction early without a winner IF it is because s/he deliberately set the Starting Price lower than s/he was willing to sell for, and it hasn't reached that high. This is considered fee avoidance because eBay charges a substantial fee for sellers to have a Reserve Price so they aren't promising to sell as low as their Starting Price.
But there are legitimate reasons why a seller would have to do so, and a few years ago eBay got tired of having to divine the subjective intent of a seller who took that action, so it adopted some procedures that make it less attractive to do so with that intention: it can only be done before the countdown reaches 12 hours AND it charges a fee (the FVF% for that seller in that category times the highest cancelled bid) when s/he does so (with the first such fee per calendar year waived to allow for the very occasional legitimate reason for doing so).
BUT I'm not seeing any auction listings among your active listings. For fixed-price listings (or auction listings that have not had a bid and have at least 12 hours to go) you can simply REVISE the listing (link in your list of active listings--check under the more actions or whatever dropdown menu) to change the price.

It is a buy it now I like to end and then use Seller Similar so that the listing has a new item number and re- indexes to the site. Just did that recently on a comic that I had a low ball offer on.... check recent solds and that comic had gone up in value, so ended it, select sell similar and raised the price. 🙂
I am not in a hurry to sell so this strategy works for me.
