If an Item shipped Back to Seller from Ebay Authenticity is Lost In the Mail and Never Delivers What Do You Do as a Seller
Summary: vintageiconvault is facing difficulties with a lost item that was shipped back to them by eBay Authenticity but never delivered. They are having trouble getting clear guidance from eBay Customer Service, facing incorrect responses and unhelpful interactions during calls. The main issue is that eBay, having paid for the return shipping label, must file the claim with USPS, but vintageiconvault is unable to access necessary claim and insurance information. They are seeking the correct procedure for eBay to cover the cost of the lost item.
I have searched for eBay’s policy on an item shipped back to the me, the seller, from eBay Authenticity that is lost in the mail and never delivered back to me.
Conversations with Customer Service produce incorrect answers, transfers, dropped calls, and hang-ups.
eBay Authenticity in Las Vegas bought the USPS return label to send the item back to me after the buyer changed their mind. Only they can file the claim with USPS because they paid for the return label not me.
eBay said I can file a claim from the order by selecting “file a claim.” in the order drop down menu for the item. That option only opens the label I purchased weeks ago to shipped the item to eBay Authenticity enroute to the buyer which shows delivered to Las Vegas.
I would also need proof of any insurance on the label eBay used. eBay will not give me that information. The "supervisor" at eBay insisted that USPS will pay out to third party sellers. When I advised her that I spoke with USPS about paying me out as a seller (recipient) on eBay when Ebay Authenticity was the sender and they bought the label and not me, she told me "to be respectful" and then hung up on me.
What is the proper procedure for eBay to cover the price of the item lost by USPS after eBay Authenticity in Las Vegas shipped it back to me?

Mentor1 week ago@vintageiconvault eBay is supposed to be responsible for refunding the buyer if the item is lost in shipment from the Authenticity Hub to the buyer.

Type Agent after it responds. You may have to also select More Options and answer another question and then type agent. ALWAYS be brief with the replies.
If that doesn't work here are two other options.....
Here's to Contact Customer service:
Click this link> https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/getting-paid/getting-paid-items-youve-sold?id=4814
Then Type PAYOUT in the chat bot box on the lower right. (Do not add any additional information) I feel that this option to get past the bots is ok since it affects your bottom line.
Then AGENT after the bot responds. You might have to repeat those steps.
