I won a bid and before I could pay the seller contacted me to tell me he wants more money.
I recently won a bid I’d been monitoring for days. Shortly after, the seller messaged me, stating they wanted $2,200 instead of the winning bid of $635, and said they were going to cancel the order. While I reported the seller, they have yet to cancel the transaction. I'm hesitant to proceed with the $700 checkout, knowing I won’t receive the items. What steps should I take next? - I won't cancel it because I want the items!

·1 year agoYou pay. You risk an unpaid cancellation record if you don't which can adversely affect buying in the future (you can try appealing it citing the message from the seller but that takes time and way too much effort even if it works). Make sure the listing has the "Shop with confidence/eBay Money Back Guarantee/Get the item you ordered or your money back" statement on the listing (at the bottom right of the column to the right of the photos). If it doesn't come back with more information especially what category the item is in.
If you don't get a package or full refund from the seller by the time the estimated delivery date you were given when you paid has fully passed, go to your Purchase History for that item, click the link for more options and select that you haven't received the item, then follow instructions from there. If you haven't gotten the item as described or a full refund after 3 days (but before 21 days) from doing so go back and you should find a link to "Ask eBay to step in" to get your refund.
