I was scammed out of $2000 by an eBay impersonator I tried to reach a person in eBay customer servic
These impersonators are professional and very good at what they do they were able to get into my eBay account and get all my information
don’t trust ebay
ebay needs to get legitimate people to answer calls. This person called himself Nathan James and even gave me his so called employee Id number. Said he had a boss named David Murphy who was equally crooked. They named San Jose California as their home base and said they were working out of Des Moines WA and Clearwater Florida
they were Indian and spoke to each other in their language.
I consider myself bright and can’t believe I got completely sucked into their scam. They can read people and know how to get into their heads. At one point I realized I was dealing with scammers and they swore on their children’s names that they were honest.

Mentor3 years agoIf you searched for an eBay customer service number on Google, you may have found an ad instead of a legitimate search result.
Scammers put up fake pages with eBay logos and their own phone numbers, and then take out ads on Google so that their links appear when users search for eBay customer service or similar keywords. When users report the fake pages, Google will eventually take them down, but scammers just put up new pages with new links using new numbers. The scam operations are quite sophisticated. Once contacted, the scammers will ask for gift cards or else ask users to install remote access software so that the scammers can connect to the users' computers to obtain financial information and make transactions.
If you allowed a scammer access to your computer, be sure to remove any software you installed, and change any passwords to any accounts you might have had saved on your computer. Scan your computer for signs of remote access.

eBay does not have a public phone number for customer service. The only way to contact eBay is by going to ebay.com and requesting a call back through the Help & Contact page, or through an eBay social media account.
Use the "Contact us" link on the Help & Contact page and follow the prompts for your issue and you should eventually wind up on a page with a chat option. Choose that, and the last option that appears in the chat window -- use the "See more" option -- should be "Contact an Agent" to request a call-back if you are in North America.
