I was abruptly blocked from completing the transaction
Just as an FYI:
I was in the final stages of negotiating the purchase of a $2,800 watchwith the seller when I inquired about the possibility of trading in a watch for credit toward the purchase. Unfortunately, rather than receiving a response or clarification, I was abruptly blocked from completing the transaction.
As a member of the eBay community for over 24 years, I have never experienced a seller responding in such a dismissive or unprofessional manner. I was fully prepared to purchase the item and was merely seeking additional clarity before finalizing the sale.
I find this experience not only disappointing but also concerning, as it reflects poorly on the seller and undermines the spirit of open and respectful communication that eBay has fostered for decades.

As a member of the eBay Community for over 24 years ... you really should have realized that eBay abandoned the 'trading' aspect MANY years ago. If you waited until the 'final stage' of negotiating the purchase before bringing up the trade aspect ... you probably frightened the seller with your surprise gambit.
eBay is hardest on members for doing anything that cheats eBay out of its fees. It probably was the difficulty in collecting fees when trading items that did away with trades altogether. I don't believe your seller was being 'unprofessional'. I believe they were trying to protect their livelihood.

The seller knew this ,so when you ask for it, he blocked you!

Mentor1 year agoSellers can block any user for any reason or no reason at all. Keep in mind that eBay only allows sales of items and does not allow sellers to take items in for trade or credit. The seller may not have wanted to further negotiate with you especially when you suggested a trade credit. There is nothing that eBay can do to help this situation as blocking of users is totally up to the seller.
