I want to sell an old music fake book

Question

I want to sell an old music fake book. How do I tell if it is legal to sell. Jack

I play multiple instruments and fake books are a great way to get the chords for many songs without having to do the work yourself. The rest is up to the player! @shipscript

@shipscript A music fake book means there is no printed accompaniment. The book has lyrics and chord markings and it is up to the person reading the chords to add their own accompaniment. You can sell this.

Is "fake" another word for "knockoff" and "counterfeit"? If so, you are not allowed to sell it anywhere. However, if it is a book that is more than 100 years old, then the copyright has expired and you can sell it.
