I want to boycott shopping from Amazon, and I've noticed that most of my purchases lately on Ebay ar
e shipped by Amazon. Is there a way to avoid this or is everything on Ebay also from Amazon?

Mentor10 months agoeBay does allow drop shipping by sellers in certain circumstances. Many eBay sellers are also Amazon sellers so they use the Amazon fulfillment service to send their items to the buyer. However, if you receive an Amazon package that has a guest receipt in the package then the seller violated both eBay and Amazon policy and can be reported to both companies.
So you may not be able to get away from Amazon deliveries but they may be within eBay policy or not depending on if there is a guest receipt or not in the package.

It is against eBay policy to fulfill an eBay order by drop-shipping from a retailer. But that alone does not stop some folks from attempting just that.
By choosing to avoid doing business with drop-shippers generally, you can avoid retail drop-shippers and triangulation scammers specifically.
It may not be possible to always identify in advance those sellers who drop-ship, but it is possible to identify some common characteristics of illicit retail drop-shippers or other under-performing sellers, and thus avoid the worst of them.
Often they can be spotted by a combination of low feedback number, free shipping of heavy items where it would not be profitable to use retail shipping, use of stock photos, high handling time (not necessarily if they are using Amazon or Walmart, though), poor feedback received with complaints of delays and wrong items or out of stock cancellations, very odd item selection and/or quantities like items were chosen at random from a catalog, canned item descriptions scraped from another site that exactly match many other similar listings, differences between registration location on the feedback page and item location (or vague item location -- like "US, United States"), or inability to answer even basic questions about the items being sold.

Drop shipping is when a seller has someone else ship a product directly to the buyer.
Some drop shipping is allowed on eBay, when the seller has a preexisting business relationship with a wholesaler, or when the seller has stock the seller already owns in a fulfillment company warehouse.
Some drop shipping is not allowed, though. Retail drop-shipping, where the seller waits until a purchase is made on eBay, then turns around and purchases the item from a retail site to have the item shipped directly to the buyer is not permitted by eBay. But just because it is not allowed does not mean that some folks will not try to do it.

Because the eBay sellers that have items delivered via an Amazon retail order are already breaking eBay policy -- and likely Amazon policy as well -- those sellers often try to hide what they are doing, so buyers that want to avoid buying from those sellers must look for clues that indicate what is actually going on.
