I tried - my reply to a stamp seller on Ebay
You just have to read this stamp seller's Policies which are posted on their Ebay store site. I read them before my $9.62 total purchase cost. This is me reply to the seller after trying to find a way to get cancellation of an order for one US collectors stamp item. I never did find a way to get real help on Ebay.
My message to the seller via email:
"Attention: To The Boss Guy
Regarding request for cancelling this small order:
US #3051A MNH 1996 Ring Necked Pheasant Flora/Fauna [Top Booklet Single].
Order number:
Seller ID:
hiplatelics
So, you do not want to cancel this very small purchase in the total amount of $9.62US for a US Scott #3051a stamp, even though at one point after the purchase was made on June 10, 2025, your Ebay store stated it was Out of Stock, on June 18, 2025. This is the day I asked for a cancellation. It makes good business sense to cancel an order for something that was no longer available.
But I understand. You’ve got your elaborate, poorly written, stupid polices.
You desperately need my $9.62 to boost your free cash flow. Yes, free because you have not done anything to earn my $9.62. Just think of the thousands of dollars you pull in each month for pre-paid stamp purchases from around the world. Purchases that you do not delivery on for two-months, maybe longer. All that Free Cash Flow that you don’t pay interest on. Wow, what a gig!
I know you are going to block me from making any more purchases from your hiplatelics Texas Philatelics Ebay store. Not to worry, I would not come to your Ebay store every again. And you don’t have to worry about me asking to return this stamp if I ever receive it because I do not want to spend another $0.73 on an already bad business judgement on my part, doing business with you.
Texas Philatelics LLC dba txphl dba hiplatelics. Oh wow, gee golly. All that “Limited Liability Corporationâ€, “doing business asâ€, etc. stuff. You must have something to hide from.
Kiss my Blarney Stone; I don’t think so. Kiss my…….You got it right chum."
Probably not appropriate for here, but I'm throwing this to the wind.

Mentor1 year agoMy goodness.
I expected to reply to you that whatever a seller types into the Item Description as his/her "policies" or "terms" are generally not enforceable by eBay. Especially if they contradict eBay's policies and/or procedures.
But your message is -- something else.
Not sure what you expected to accomplish by sharing it. Or even by sending it to that seller.

OP1 year agoI did not expect anything either way.
The seller has been on Ebay a long time and I assume Ebay goes along with his policies. Ebay supported the seller's decision not to cancel my order as far as I can tell. So that's that.

Mentor1 year ago@gary_1942 I just wanted to refer you to eBay's policy on Buyer cancellation Requests>
If you’ve changed your mind about a purchase, you can submit a request to cancel the order. The seller can either accept or decline your cancellation request.
