I thought 3 unpaid items resulted in eBay suspension???
A buyer bought a large lot of sports cards from me last week and never paid. I checked his feedback, and he has done this at least two other times in the past week. I contacted those sellers, and they said they also submitted cancellations which would ultimately give the buyer an unpaid item strike. So this buyer should have three unpaid item strikes, which should result in eBay closing their account, yet it is still active. Does anyone know why this might happen?

·2 years agoYour misunderstanding is I'm guessing why eBay doesn't use the term "strike" anymore. It would take far more than 3 unpaid item cancellations for eBay to kick someone off the site (such as it being part of a scam). Instead eBay would adjust his/her buying limits and let sellers choose to block such serial non-payers (2 or more in 12 months or less).
ETA: Both posting the buyer's ID here and leaving a positive with a negative comment are violations of eBay rules.
Also, did you post the feedback before or after you cancelled for non-payment? Neither party is supposed to be able to post feedback after cancellation for non-payment.

Mentor2 years agoThere is probably no absolute threshold for suspension, and if there was, I'm sure eBay would not share it with us.
You can block buyers with 2 or more unpaid cancellations. Do that and you won't be bothered with serial nonpaying buyers. https://www.ebay.com/bmgt/buyerrequirements
