I think the buyer doesn't know this phone is PARTS ONLY
Summary: aaron_barnhart listed an iPhone as "Not working or for parts only" and suspects the buyer misunderstood the listing. The buyer's message implied they expected a working phone. aaron_barnhart is contemplating canceling the order and relisting with a clearer headline but is concerned about potential penalties. lady_madonna advised that canceling would result in a defect and suggested shipping the item as listed.
I selected "Not working or for parts only" when I listed my iphone for sale.
The buyer messaged me after the auction:
(( 31 ? Sold ? Omg
Based on this message I believe the buyer didn't read the listing carefully and thinks they are buying a working phone.
I contacted the buyer, but they have not replied. Today is shipping day. I think I should cancel the order and relist it, this time putting "NOT WORKING--PARTS ONLY" in the listing header.
Is there a penalty if I cancel the order?

Mentor3 weeks agoYes, you would receive a defect for cancelling the buyer's order.
Listing clearly states "For parts or not working".
Ship the item.
