I think I'm getting the ultimate in runarounds..
Hang on.. it's a long read...
I bought some music equipment from a seller based in China. After winning the auction, I paid and it wasn't long after I received this message from the seller:
"Hello, due to the economic constraints imposed by the United States on China. Restricting the import and export of cross-border business supplies from China. China has introduced new cross-border export trade policies. This item belongs to e-commerce products. If sent directly to your country. The customs department will detain the product. High customs duties are required. In order for you to receive the product smoothly. Reduce customs duties. The logistics system will default to shipping directly from Mexico to your country. After the product arrives at the company's overseas warehouse in Mexico, it will be directly transferred to your city. Please understand. You can rest assured. We guarantee that you will receive the product within 25 days. If you have any questions, please contact me directly. Thank you"
I find all of this very hard to believe, as someone who has procured from AliExpress and Alibaba, as well as other Chinese-based auctions and have had ZERO issue getting those items. And none of which made any detours via Mexico. Also, we're well past the 25 days for promised receipt. In fact, we're nearing around 55 days.
I can no longer message the seller as it tells me the seller is no longer a registered user. Moreso, and interestingly enough, someone--if not the seller--has updated the tracking number on THREE separate occasions. Each time, the package starts anew in China en route to Mexico, but never ends up in the states.
Am I crazy to a$$ume that I will never receive this item? I mean, this is thee ultimate in runarounds, right?
Sidebar--the final to-be-received-by date is May 11. Almost two entire months after the initial auction closed and was paid for.
Thoughts?

Mentor5 months ago@deltapupjux Sorry that you had a bad seller. Glad that they are no longer registered. Refund cases work even when the seller is no longer registered. eBay forces the refund from the sellers account.
Here's how to get your money back. Since the last estimated delivery date is May 11th you can file a not received case on May 12th.
You have 30 days from the last estimated delivery date to file a refund request on eBay.
Select your item on this page to start a refund request:
https://www.ebay.com/help/buying/returns-refunds/get-help-item-hasnt-arrived?id=4042&st=
4 business days after you file the refund request ask eBay to step in and help if the seller has not refunded you.

If it is more than 30 days past the last estimated delivery date then you can file a refund request on PayPal up to 180 days from the date of purchase. OR if you didn't use PayPal at checkout contact your bank or credit card to report that you didn't receive the item.
