I sold an item and packed it very well. The buyer sent a photo of the broken item.
So it was broken during shipping. Has this happened to anyone else? How did you proceed to handle it?

·2 years agoTake no offense, but if the item was damaged, then it was not packed well enough.
You will need to file a claim with the carrier. Your buyer may be asked to cooperate with the carrier’s investigation/claims process, so ask them to keep the damaged item and all packaging.
Be warned, if the carrier deems the item improperly packaged, they will not pay the claim. This is your loss, not the buyer’s.
As the seller, you are ultimately responsible for getting the item to the buyer in as-listed condition.
