I sold a DVD/VCR combo and eBay allowed the customer to select Media Mail for shipping.
I have been selling on eBay for 10 years. I understand how all the different shipping options work. I have business profiles set up for my store dictating my shipping preferences. I did not offer Media Mail on this item since it is not media, but somehow the customer was able to choose Media Mail, and eBay not only allowed it, they let them pay that reduced shipping price. Now I get to cough up an additional $10 for shipping. Has anyone else experienced this issue? This sort of thing drives me nuts.

OP5 months agoI don't understand how that could have happened. eBay won't allow me to select Media Mail for anything but media. Sometimes it won't even let me select Media Mail for books.
I will admit that I may have made a mistake while posting and accidentally selected Media Mail, but I am not sure I understand how I was able to do so.
Thanks,

I just created a dummy listing for a Sharp DVD Player and Media Mail was one of the choices on the list of shipping options.

Your listing clearly shows Media Mail and it is highly possible that you made a mistake when you listed the item. We see mistakes in shipping on a regular basis and they are founded in operator error. If you created that listing from a Sell similar from another Seller it is possible THEY made the mistake and it carried over to your listing. I see over $ 15 for a coast to coast MM shipment which sounds about right, your customer must be closer to you if they only see $ 10.
