I shipped wrong item - Buyer kept it but won't pay.
I sold an item for $30. Unfortunately, I shipped the wrong item - one that cost $100. (It was a silly mix-up on my part.)
The buyer liked it, however, and asked how much extra to keep it?
After considering the return cost and the cost to ship him the correct item, I asked for an additional $30.
He agreed.
So, I phoned eBay and asked how to get paid? Their suggestion? Go through PayPal, or something else outside of eBay.
I asked the buyer if he had any wallet apps that he could send me the funds through...
...
... No response.
Seems he's been ghosting me since.
Any suggestions as to how I can get my money through eBay?
Thanks

Mentor2 years agoThere is no way to get the money through eBay as already advised by eBay support.
You can send him a PayPal invoice if he'll provide you with his PayPal email. Or you can use one of the other similar apps. You can't force him to pay for something that wasn't ordered - it's up to the buyer to return, pay, or keep.
You could also mention that he can open a return for an item that is not as described so you can send a prepaid shipping label for a full refund when the item arrives back to you.
