I set my PP credit card as Preferred payment but...
I set my PP credit card as Preferred payment but... my purchases keep being deducted straight from my bank account. (my last purchase was 3 sellers, for a total of $75.05. I assumed that would be one $75.05 charge to my PP credit card, but instead I guess it paid out to each vendor individually (perhaps as they shipped?).
SO instead of 3 charges to my cc totaling $75.05, I had 3 direct $25-ish withdrawals from my bank.
I'm not adept here - haven't made many purchases, so am I doing something wrong, or can vendors decide they want direct bank payment instead of allowing my preferred cc to be used?
I used the "assistant" to "help" but was given a refund (I didn't ask for) as if the problem was non-delivery - rather than being told how to firm up my payment TYPE choice. So now I have that problem to solve, too.

If you mean that when you check out of eBay and select PayPal, you are not able to choose a specific payment method in your PayPal wallet but one is selected for you, in that case go to your eBay Payments page in your eBay account and delete the entry for PayPal that appears there.

The next time you check out on eBay and choose PayPal, you should be sent to your PayPal wallet page and given a chance to pick a specific payment method, including PayPal Credit if the transaction qualifies.
If the seller requires a payment method in advance to place a bid or make an offer, you may have to provide a credit or debit card that can handle a reversible payment hold. In the case of an auction, eBay may allow some time -- on the order of an hour -- after the auction ends to combine auction wins or to choose a different payment method. If another payment method is not specified, eBay will charge the amount to the payment method specified in advance.
