I sent an item to the buyer and he said it didn't arrive
A couple of weeks ago, I sent an item to a buyer and was told the item never arrived. Tracking the item, I see that it made it from California to the local post office in his home town in Texas. I contacted the buyer and suggested that he should go to his local post office to ask about the item. When I asked him if he did, he wouldn't confirm if he did or not. He keeps saying that it's my fault that the package did not arrive, even though I have proof that the Item made it to his home town. Do I still get paid for the item?

For seller protection, you need proof that the item was delivered to the buyer (not that it is still in transit). If the item isn't delivered, you'll have to refund.
You can file a missing mail search request here:

What I would do however, is find the phone number for his local PO and give them a call. You can do this by googling the post office for the buyer's zip code and then use the local # (not the 800 #) to contact them. When I've done this, they get right on it and I receive an answer faster.
Taking the matter into your own hands instead of instructing the buyer to take care of the problem) will go a long way to help reduce the chances of a case being opened against you and/or receiving negative feedback. These are the situations where you step up, put on your best customer service hat, and go to work.
