I returned an item and my return was never scanned at usps so it looks like it was never returned

Question

I dropped off my return at *UPS, they said the *USPS would pick up the package that afternoon. Obviously it never got to the USPS because there is no movement on the package at all and USPS has no tracking on it. I printed the return label for it from my Ebay and attached it to the return. I notified Ebay and opened a 'case' on it a few days ago, and all I see is a message saying I need 'action' and to RETURN ! the item! There is no understanding on the part of the ai robotic help and no answer...

So many questions...

When did you drop it off (and why at UPS?) - sometimes my packages aren't scanned until they're out for delivery or delivered. Doesn't the UPS place have any record of USPS picking it up - seems they would.

There isn't a phone# to call eBay, we have to request that they call us - where did you find a phone#? google has tons of fake/scam "ebay" numbers.

You do need to let CS know the return was sent, they may be able to extend the deadline so it doesn't close.

Open this Help page on Return shipping for buyers
At the bottom Click on "Contact us"
In the Help Chatbox that opens, to bypass the bots, type AGENT at the bottom then press the Send arrow
Keep typing "AGENT" to any bot questions.
For the box asking "Yes"/"Something else" click on "Yes"
You should see the options to Chat live with an agent, or have them call you.

I tried it and had to enter AGENT twice, clicked "Yes", then got the live agent options.

Note: The Call Back option doesn't always work if your carrier blocks spam/telemarketing calls.
With the Chat option eBay will automatically email you a transcript.
