I returned a fake item, paid for return shipping, now I need my money returned from eBay guarantee. I can’t get anywhere
I purchased a pair of leggings. They arrived and were fake. Very cheap material you could see through and the tag was for a t-shirt and a different size. I returned the item at my expense and eBay has not returned my money. What can I do?

On the Order's page, you can select I want to Return item by click "..." or More actions. That is how to file a Return case.
Buyers can't get a refund when they do not have an accepted return request. You probably would've had the return shipping paid for by the seller had you opened one. I'm so sorry.
You were covered by eBay's 30-day Money Back Guarantee if the item was not as described or allowed for returns. However, buyers must use the system to make a return. It's similar how other e-commerce sites operate... we can't just mail an item back. We need to request a return in the system first.
Now you are probably out of the product and money unless the seller is nice enough to refund when they get the item back. You could message the seller and nicely ask them too. Admit you didn't realize there was a process and you can't afford the loss. They might take pity!

OP3 weeks agoI have not. I don’t know how to do a return case. I have been trying to appeal but I can’t get anywhere. eBay closed the case saying I did not return on time but I did. I was out of town and could not return ASSP due to a family medical emergency.
