I returned a defective coffee machine bought with Visa and got a Gift Card instead of my money.
Last week I received my Ebay purchase of a coffee/espresso machine from the app factory. It was a heavy (for me) thing to get out of the box and set up. Well, the espresso function didn’t work. I went on YouTube to make sure I was doing it correctly. I was - it didn’t work. I went onto the app factory website and, since there is no telephone number, I contacted them by message to ask for a return label and the return process to begin and the reason was it was a defective machine. The app factory promises on their site to give a complete refund upon confirmation that the machine has indeed been sent via the p.o.
It was no easy task for me to then pack this heavy thing up in the original box and schlep it to the p.o. but I did it. Well, Instead of the refund to my visa account the app factory issued to me a gift card to be spent with them for my complete amount. Of course, I was very angry and contacted them immediately to complain that I wanted my money refunded immediately to my visa account!. . . no reply. No reply the next day. The day after that I was assured I would get my money back so I should be patient. Why should I be patient? I filed a complaint with visa. I’m still waiting for the app factory to return my money. I won’t ever buy anything from them ever again and I hope my friends won’t either.

Mentor8 months agoi am sorry to hear this happened to you. You should have filed your "Not as described" case with eBay and not directly with the company. eBay will no longer help you as you did not go through the eBay Money Back Guaranty process. If you had gone through the Money Back Guaranty process the seller would have had to pay the return shipping charges and refunded back to your original payment source.
