I placed a bid but didn't see it show up as current bid??it might show up as max bid? did I do something wrong?

Go to the listing. Are there any bids showing? Click on the number of bids to see the bid history for the item.

If you placed a bid successfully, it should appear in the bid history. If you are using the eBay app, the app may show an abbreviated bid history, so for best results use a desktop browser to view the entire bid history.

If you are the only bidder in a no-reserve auction, you should be the high bidder at the starting price chosen by the seller, even if you bid higher than that amount.

If there is more than one bidder, whichever bidder has bid the highest will be the current high bidder, but the amount shown is not necessarily the high bidder's maximum bid amount.

eBay only uses as much of the high bidder's maximum bid amount to beat the second highest bidder's bid amount by one bid increment, up to the high bidder's maximum bid amount.

At any given time, if there are no more bids when the auction ends, the high bidder will win and pay the amount shown. In the case of a tie, the earlier bidder is considered the winner.
