I ordered a product and immediately noticed the wrong address after the order was placed.
The order was for $800. I cancelled the order 5 minutes later explaining the error. Received notification that the order was up and pending for cancellation. A couple of days later I received notification that the seller refused to refund my purchase. The order was on its way. I will never receive the order because of the wrong address. I am wondering why the seller did not cancel the order and contact me about a correct address. What is the policy on what I have described. This is why Amazon is the only way to shop on line. I guess the item will be returned to sender and what will happen at this point ? I have since purchased the item on Amazon. What is the return procedure for a situation such as this ?

Mentor2 years agoBuyers can only REQUEST to cancel a transaction. Only the seller can file the cancellation. You should have used the CONTACT SELLER option and explain why you need to have to transaction cancelled, so you can provide an accurate SHIP TO address. Buyers are responsible for keeping their SHIP TO address up to date.

There are FIVE addresses to edit/update.
Hopefully, the new residents at your old address will mark the package "Return to Sender". If the item is returned to the seller, the seller should contact you to see if you wish to repay to reship, or to get a refund of the item price only if you no longer need the item. If the package is not returned to you, if you file an Item Not Received case, I believe you will lose, because the seller sent to the SHIP TO address on file at the time.
