I need to contact a real person for help, seller is pulling a bait and switch after sale.
I purchased an item that is listed as "New", but after the sale the seller contacted me and said they don't have a new one, but have a "good condition used" item instead. They do not accept returns and I cannot initiate a cancellation due to a seller's error, all of the cancellation options show me as the buyer purchasing something wrong or putting the wrong address. I want to report this bait and switch activity and have eBay cancel my order with the knowledge this seller is doing shady things. When I go through to report, I get red text saying "Additional details invalid" and cannot continue, but I'm describing the issue. The automated assistant got 1-star because it couldn't understand my problem and wouldn't send me to a person for help.

Mentor1 year ago@flyinghonda500. Sorry that you had a bad seller. You can contact customer service but a buyer can only request for an order to be canceled, the seller can approve or decline the cancelation.
You are covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee which overrules the sellers no returns policy. The seller pays return shipping and refunds 100%. This goes on the sellers record.
Here's how to contact eBay customer service:
eBay agents are working from home so you have to request a call back or live chat.
1. CLICK THIS LINK:

2. Request a call back
3. Or you can also contact customer service by sending a PRIVATE message on social media. Customer service verifies your identity before responding.

OP1 year agoThanks for the quick reply to my question. The seller read my message saying I would report them for the bait-and-switch tactic, and they cancelled the order and refunded me before I ever got to customer service. I'm glad it was resolved, but I hope eBay looks at the message and sees what this seller was trying to do. It's not only bad business and against eBay policy, that tactic is also against the law most places. I also hope eBay can improve their automated system, it responded in a completely disconnected manner that had nothing to do with the issue at hand, but knowing there's a direct customer support line means in the future if necessary, I can at least discuss an issue with a person.
