I need the name of a buyer who sent me an item, seller won't give it to me
A person came on eBay and purchased something and had the seller send it to me with out identification of who was the sender. The seller refuses to tell me who bought and sent me the product and what their contact information is. The whole transaction was handled by the seller, he packed and shipped the item to me.
I have been asking the seller for the senders name and contact info since January 2024. He and his wife have not been willing to give me the details. I'm afraid this is part of a scam they are running.
Does eBay have the details of who paid for this item to be sent to me?

Was this item sent to you as a gift? Or do you receive something you never ordered out of the blue? If it was a gift, the Seller is not obligated to tell you or anyone else who paid for it. eBay takes privacy concerns very seriously.
If you received something out of the blue from this Seller, it's possible it could be a brushing scam. But that seems unlikely. eBay has many security features to prevent that.
If you have heard nothing else from this Seller in the past nine months, I would stop contacting them. At some point they could report you to eBay.

OP1 year agoThanks for your info fashionsandbeauty4u . Yes it was a gift. So the seller doesn't have to tell me anything. I understand now. I'd say unusual rule by eBay.
