I keep getting requests for full refunds and the buyers will not return the products

Question

This is happening again. I have a current buyer that is requesting a full refund even a shipping refund. The buyer will not return the item. This has happened several times before. How can I keep people on eBay from scamming me and taking my products for free.

If the buyer opens a return request for a 'Not As Described' reason,

- Accept the Return

- Send a Shipping Label (through the return)

- Wait until the item is returned before you refund.

If the buyer won't open a return request, ignore them.

If they do open a return request and they don't return it by the deadline, the case will close (or ask eBay to Step In to close it).

@fuzzylogic I understand that this is frustrating. Tell the buyer to file a return request case. You do pay return shipping, but do NOT refund until you get the item back.

A no return policy doesn't mean no refunds. Keep in mind that your return policy is only for buyers remorse returns.... changed mind doesn't fit, etc. The eBay Money Back Guarantee overrules your returns policy.

If the buyer files a refund request SAYING that the item is not as described then you need to accept the return and issue the return shipping label.

If you do not accept the return willingly then the buyer can ask eBay to step in and force a refund. You do not get your seller's fees back, you get a defect and the buyer may be allowed to keep the item.

Sellers have protection for return abuse if they offer FREE RETURN shipping on their listings OR if they are a Top Rated seller and offer 30 days or greater returns. The seller can then reduce the refund amount by up to 50% if the buyer sends a different item or somehow reduces the value of the item.
