I have funds on hold and need to refund buyer

Question

I gave my package to my mailman to send off and the package was not scanned and is now lost. The buyer has requested a refund and I do not have the funds to refund the buyer. Ebay has my funds on hold and I want to refund the buyer, the buyer has already opened a dispute. How can I get ebay to just refund the buyer what's on hold?

You will have to refund from your own funds, and when the hold is released, you will be reimbursed.

For sellers fees/reimbursements I selected a credit card instead of my checking account.

You can refund the buyer, but how that will happen will depend on your available funds.

In the future if you give your carrier or a postal clerk a package ask them to scan it immediately. If you printed your label through ebay reach out to the USPS customer service with your tracking number, an ask them to locate the item and return it to you.
