I have a buyer requesting the item they have paid for be shipped to a differant address 5 miles away
The addresses are in the same zip code. I am shipping with USPS Ground using a EBAY provided label. Can I change the address on the label myself with a marker? I do not want to do something that could interfere with this item being delivered.

In order to keep your seller protection, you are required to ship to the buyer's shipping address that was provided by Ebay. If you ship it elsewhere, the buyer can claim they never received it and you will have no proof of delivery to their shipping address.
You can ask them if they want to cancel the transaction so they can repurchase the item using the correct shipping address when they go through the Ebay checkout process.
