I got scammed by someone posing to be an eBay representative
Please help on what I can or should do. I’ve been having lots of trouble trying to get in contact with eBay. Yesterday I was finally able to get a hold of someone by calling the eBay number , long story short I found out I was scammed they were able to access my information somehow and money was pulled from my bank account. I spent all day yesterday making phone calls feeling helpless I even called that number back which is eBay number and can’t seem to get a hold of anyone. I just felt so terrible being scammed and because money was taken electronically from my account. Please help…any suggestions?

·2 years agoThe number you called was not eBay!
You will need to work with your bank and maybe the police.
EBay cannot help because it had nothing to do with them.

Mentor2 years agoChange your eBay password and uninstall any software the scammer had you install, and scan your computer for signs of remote access.

Change any passwords that the scammer might have had access to.
eBay has a Help & Contact link on the site to reach eBay.
eBay does not have a public phone number for customer service.
Scammers put up fake pages with eBay logos and their own phone numbers, and then take out ads on Google so that their links appear when users search for eBay customer service or similar keywords. When users report the fake pages, Google will eventually take them down, but scammers just put up new pages with new links using new numbers. The scam operations are quite sophisticated. Once contacted, the scammers will ask for gift cards or else ask users to install remote access software so that the scammers can connect to the users' computers to obtain financial information and make transactions.
If you found a phone number to call by searching using Google, see here to report the scam ad:
