I got scammed
I won an auction for a Southwest Airlines credit. They sent my “credit†via email. Bit the credit didn’t show I’m my Southwest account. It turns out it is fraud. I contacted Southwest and the confirmation they gave me doesn’t exist. Also the email they sent from Southwest is fraud and not actually from Southwest. I need to file a dispute but i am not sure which dispute. Should I file item not received or I need to return? Technically it was received because they sent a fake email. But there is no credit. Or do I return because it’s not as described? In the original listing it says no returns. I just want to mae sure I file the right dispute.

Do you happen to have the eBay item number off of that listing. We may be able to take a look at it. Technically, that was an electronically delivered item and Sellers have to have approval before they can list things in that way.
You are still covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee: eBay Money Back Guarantee policy
Make sure there is no tracking history on the item in your Purchase history that shows you received the item: Purchases | My eBay | eBay
Technically, if you purchased something with an estimated delivery date but tracking does NOT show that it was delivered you would file a claim that you did not receive the item within 30 days of that estimated delivery date.
If the Seller uploaded a fake Tracking number that shows you received something then you would file a return using the reason "Does not match pictures or description" . eBay would issue you a pre-paid return label and you would ship a copy of an email back stating the credit was fraud, include a picture of that email on the eBay return flow.

If at the end of the day the eBay system fails to refund you then you will be forced to file a dispute with your Funding source.

OP6 months agoMy order number is 07-14205-30585. I got advice to file for a return not as described so I already did that. Hopefully I didn’t mess it up.

OP6 months agoIt’s crazy to me that people can scam people like this and eBay isn’t doing anything. This seller is still actively selling these fake Southwest credits on eBay.
