I got an email from eBay that they are going to charge my account $30. Why?
I did just list an item for sale, but I don’t think I should have to pay anything before the item sells.

Reserve fees are an (expensive) optional listing upgrade due at the time of listing whether the item sells or not.

Next time skip the reserve entirely and list using the minimum you are willing to sell at as your starting auction bid or else use a fixed price listing.
