I got a refund that I didn’t want
I purchased an item and it was lost so I contacted the seller and they placed a lost request with the postal service. I informed seller that I would wait for item. A few days later I received notice that I was issued a refund. I did not request refund. A week later I received item in mail and now seller wants payment. Do I need to get ebay involved?

Mentor2 years ago@edpena If you filed a refund request then the system requires the seller to issue a refund within a certain number of days... they can ask for a 10 day extension if tracking shows movement, but most sellers don't know this.
You will need to work with the seller to arrange to pay for the item again. eBay can not reverse the refund.
Here are your options:
1. The seller can send you a PayPal invoice, you will need to share your paypal email.
2. You can ask the seller for their PayPal email address or send the payment using other electronic payment method such as venmo.
3. You can snail mail the seller a check.
4. If you no longer want the item and have not opened the box you can mark it return to sender.
You are allowed to share contact information after a recent sale and it's not considered an offsite sale since the sale already took place.

In addition to the excellent advice that @comics-scifi-collectibles has provided,
the seller can provide a return shipping label if they want the item returned.
Since you have already been refunded for the transaction, the seller cannot force you to repay or return the item.
