I feel like I sold an item to a scammer

Sold an iPhone on eBay. Buyer paid at the last possible minute, 5 days later. Package has been sitting at the post office undeliverable since December 20th. Buyer has not responded to my messages. This is obviously a scam. There doesn't seem to be any way to communicate with eBay. What in the world should/can I do?

Was the item sent to a P.O. Box address, or is the post office holding the package for the buyer to pick up? If the later, and buyer never picks up, the package should be returned to you. How is that a scam?
