I don't understand? i auctioned an item, with a reserved minimum amount.
the ebay system suggest i should start bidding at the .99 cents?? so i did what they said. I thought it also said i had a choice to accept what they offered or not. but i don't seem to have a choice. Also the shipping was to be in a range of price but that does not seem so either. I deal with cognitive issues what am i not understanding??😢 I cant' even see any of the $$ listing part anymore , I didn't take any screen shots of my listing info, before posting didn't think i needed to. please help

OP2 years agoEverything you are saying is what I thought I did. I remember seeing it tell me that I would have a choice to accept or decline. Why am I not able to see what I chose?

Mentor2 years agoYou can only accept/decline OFFERS, not bids.
Accept the mistake, ship the item to the winning buyer when you get the payment notification from Ebay and move on.
You can cancel the transaction, but you will be penalized by Ebay with paying fees and receive a defect on your selling account and receive probable negative feedback from your buyer. Not worth it, IMO.

·2 years agoSounds like you set a "Minimum offer" amount which applies only to OFFERS, not to bids (automatically rejecting any OFFERS that fall below the amount you set, leaving you to accept or decline any that exceeded that amount). For BIDS on the auction the initial minimum bid amount (the minimum goes up with new bids) is the "Starting Price"; the "minimum offer" amount is totally irrelevant. To set a minimum auction price higher than the "Starting Price" you had to have set a "Reserve Price" for a fee ($5 minimum per listing or relisting regardless of outcome) that you would have seen when you got to the bottom to finalize the listing--you didn't.

Always start your bidding at the amount YOU would be willing to accept to sell your item, not what Ebay "suggests".
If someone makes an OFFER through the Best Offer option, you can choose to accept or decline. You cannot decline bids.
When entering in a shipping charge, you need to weigh & measure the prepackaged item and enter in those precise details in the Ebay shipping calculator. Do not let Ebay estimate the shipping charge.
I found your listing for the sold item. As far as I can tell, you did not have a Reserve Price, so your item sold to the highest bidder.

Mentor2 years agoPerhaps you set a $65 Buy It Now, which disappears when a bid is placed.
It is a common mistake that new/inexperienced sellers make.

·2 years agoThe listing doesn't show there being a reserve on it.
You might have put a Buy It Now price, but it gets removed as soon as it gets a bid.
