I didn't received a package
Summary: doral_tech1970 reported an issue with a purchase on eBay, where they bought an HP EliteBook at a suspiciously low price from a seller with questionable feedback. The item was marked as delivered but not received, leading to suspicions of a false tracking scam. comics-scifi-collectibles advised steps for resolution, including contacting the post office to verify the tracking information, reporting the seller to eBay, and possibly pursuing a chargeback through their payment method. jacbarcollectibles also suggested asking eBay to escalate the case for a potential refund, especially if the tracking information remains inaccurate.
Hello everyone!
I have a proble with a purchase, i found a nice ''deal'' HP EliteBook X G1i 14 AI PC Ultra 7 32GB DDR5 Touchscreen IPS Warranty Notebook contidion: open box
Price: $450
I trusted cause seller had 147 sales 99% positive feedback. Then it was ''delivered in like 1 day since i paid, but i did not receive something. so i carefully review the seller's profile and find that he is from Philipines, US. Too weird, then i checked the feedback. they were clearly boots, the same comment ''Fast shipping, item as described. Thank you.'' Almost the 90% of those comments did not have an user active account. Buyer: ***** (unregistered). Too many coincidences. So i'm here to ask what to do? i bought it 30JUL and appears like delivered 31Jul, i opened a case and tried to contact seller too many times. but what should i do? Ebay says ''seller has updated tracking details'' and Updated tracking details are now available. If the issue is still unresolved by Aug 14, you can ask us for help.
How can ask them for help at aug 14?

Mentor1 month agoYou would go back to the case you filed and "Ask eBay to step in". eBay may force a refund or ask you to wait an additional time. Does the tracking still show delivered? If so ask the shipping carrier if you name and address are on the label. If not then come back here for additional instructions.

Mentor1 month ago@doral_tech1970 Ask eBay to step in and help on the 14th if the seller has not refunded you.
https://www.ebay.com/help/buying/returns-refunds/ask-ebay-step-help-buyers?id=4701&st=1
If that doesn't work then follow these steps>
This sounds like it may be a false tracking case. I always recommend avoiding deals that are too good to be true and always check the sellers registration country on their feedback page.
I'm sorry that happened.
1) First, call the post office/shipper to see if the tracking number label contained your name and your address. (They won't tell you whose name is on the package, only that your name and address is not.)
a) If your name and correct address were on the label, ask the Post Office/shipper to review the GPS on the delivery, retrieve the item from the wrong house, and deliver it to you.
b) If your name and address weren't on that label, ask the Post Office/shipper if they will put this in writing; it's helpful, but not required. Also, ask for the weight of the package using that tracking number. Follow the rest of the steps starting with 2 below:
FOR UPS:
You can usually find the weight and other details for UPS here:
https://www.ups.com/track?loc=en_US&requester=ST/
then click " Proof of Delivery"
The proof of delivery may have more details about the delivery site, and the weight. Screenshot that.
FOR FEDEX:
You can usually find the weight and other details for FedEx here:
https://www.fedex.com/en-us/tracking.html
Then click 'View More Details' to see the package weight. Screenshot that.
2) Then, report the seller using this process
https://www.ebay.com/help/action?topicid=4022
Important, select "Suspicious seller activity"
then "Other"
Explain that the seller is using fake tracking numbers
Include these phrases
Seller uploaded tracking not associated with my transaction
Tracking details were not accurate
Seller used a false tracking number
Don't write a novel, it's initially being read by a computer, that's why I want you to use those 3 specific phrases in the message.
3) Finally, contact Customer Service and inform them that the seller uploaded a "false tracking number" on your purchase. Share any documentation you gathered. Request a refund.
Use the Customer Service that is on Instagram this way:
Send a private direct message to the page. Explain you have a fake or false tracking number situation.
If the above steps do not result in a refund then you will have to pursue a chargeback with your funding source ( bank, credit card, etc) . Once you ask your funding source to step in eBay can no longer assist you so save this option for last.

OP1 month agoHello i already called UPS they said ''The shipping information that you provided does not match with the tracking number'' i Hope to get my money! i think is a new way to SCAM BECAREFULL. I'm an experienced eBay buyer for more than 5 years and i have never had a problem like this!
Here is the way they SCAM
Send a package in your city, but not to your real adress, the problem it's that UPS just says ''Delivered'' nothing like Delivered in Utah, 41XXX (Zip Code) just says delivered

Mentor1 month ago@doral_tech1970 This is not a new scam. It also occurs on other sites not just eBay.
Usually from sellers with low feedback selling items at prices too good to be true.
The steps I suggested have successfully resulted in a refund.
Not everytime though unfortunately.
If it doesn't work then you contact your payment method and tell them that you're a victim of the false tracking scam.
