I countered but eBay "overrode" me?!
I made an offer on an item that had a price plus shipping charges. The Seller countered with a lower price plus shipping charges. I countered that i would accept the lower price WITH FREE SHIPPING. eBay went ahead and confirmed the purchase still with shipping charges. And now, I can't cancel.... I'll have to leave negative feedback.

·1 year agoIt would be very unfair for you to leave negative feedback for something that wasn’t the seller’s fault. Other sellers will be able to see that you did that and some will likely put you on their blocked buyer list.

Shipping charges are never part of the Make Offer process. Shipping charges are still the same as on the listing page. You would have seen that on the Make Offer page when you made the offer.

Mentor1 year agoBest offers are always for the item price only their shipping is not negotiable if you wanted free shipping you had to make a lower offer.
You can try requesting to cancel the sale if the seller agrees.
Here's the policy on best offers. See the second Tip box

OP1 year agothanks very much for taking a moment to reply to me.
I followed your advice, I went to the link you furnished and I went down to the "second Tip Box". I didn't find it particularly clear about negotiation of - or attempting to negotiate - shipping costs being prohibited....
But what I *did* find was that the "second Tip Box" is located *after* the "What happens *after* you make your offer" heading, meaning that someone new to the process, and following the help section by section, will have already sent their offer/counteroffer at the point they come up on "Second Tip Box"....
Poor webpage design, but not uncommon.
But thanks any way for your contribution, sorry I can't give it a "Helpful".
