I can’t make sense of a drop-ship that happened to me.
I’ve done online selling and shipping for 20 years and I’ve never seen anything like this. I bought 2 bottles of body wash from a seller on eBay on a Saturday. They showed up at my door Sunday morning in Target boxes with the Target delivery service labels. I said ok, they drop-shipped them (setting aside the fact that Targets retail price is more than I paid them, maybe they had gift cards, whatever). But, I still had active FedEx tracking that over the next 3 days moved the package from state to state and finally got a delivery notification this morning that the package was delivered and of course no package was on the porch. So - my question kinda just purely curiosity because I received my product super fast - how did they mimic FedEx shipping with an active tracking that there was no package actually moving with it ?

Mentor1 year ago@rubbabands I am glad that things worked out ok for you. The seller violated eBay's Drop Shipping Policy.
As for the fake tracking numbers bad sellers have some way of getting them. I am guessing a "dark web" type situation. Unfortunately some bad sellers use the fake tracking and never actually send an item.
Your seller appears to have used the fake tracking so that they had the tracking proof of delivery as required by eBay.
I would leave appropriate feedback.
