I bought a defective battery
Hi. I am an expat living in the Caribbean, but I still buy from Ebay buyers in the US. I have a shipper in Miami that forwards my packages to my island. Usually that goes fine, until you buy something that isn't to spec. I have this Toshiba laptop and the battery was getting bad. I got the model number and ordered a new one on Ebay. It arrived and the first thing I noticed is that it was really light. It literally weighs half of the weight of my original battery. Then I insert it in my laptop, and..... nothing. It doesn't take a charge, only the led for the AC is on, but no light for the battery present or that it's charging. I left it on the charger for a day. It doesn't even turn on. I have sent countless emails back and forth with the seller who was asking inane questions, like did you put it in the right way, etc. Uhm, yeah, I'm in IT, I know how to put a battery in a laptop. They say they're a US seller, but with the Chinese holidays they are off for a month? Returning it would cost more than I paid for the battery, so that's not gonna happen. Anyone any ideas except buy a new one somewhere else?

Mentor6 months agoSorry that this happened. Unfortunately once you had the item reshipped to you from the freight forwarder you lost the eBay money back guaranty. eBay does not cover items that are reshipped. You can try asking your payment processor for a charge back.
