I am trying to search for 2" wide belts where the seller has 2" in the title. Ebay search won't work
I am trying to search for 2" wide belts where the seller has 2" in the title. Ebay search won't work with this. It reads the quote mark to look for any 2 in titles. This is way too vast!!!!! Filters are too broad (narrow, wide, etc.) returning thousands of items. Either sellers should be prompted to use the word "inches," or the filter should include specific measurement widths... you would think. Also, "2"" brings all 2s as well. Very frustrating. Does anyone know who I can turn up all belt listing with exactly 2" (not written out as 2 inch) in the title?
I assume the same frustration is felt by buyers looking for the character " for inches to show up for many other types of items, but where sellers don't have the where-with-all write out the word "inches" and instead just put the character "
I also think sellers should be prompted to realize sizes such as S, M, and Large vary hugely in women's belts, especially if vintage and the actual length (heel to center hole) is what will actually tell sellers the accurate waist measurement.

Mentor8 months agoQuotation marks cannot be searched for -- eBay uses quotation marks to specify exact keywords or phrases. Most sellers understand this and use something like 2-inch instead of 2", and the former when used as a keyword will match the latter when searching.
And searching for a number by itself will match any listing with the number anywhere in the title or item-specifics. A single digit number keyword may match any number or alphanumeric that contains that single digit. Grouping keywords with a dash can be useful here.
Try a search like this:
https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=2-inch+wide+womens+belt&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&_sop=10
Or this:
https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=2-inch+belt&_sacat=3003&LH_TitleDesc=0&_odkw=2-inch+womens+belt&_osacat=3003&_sop=10
You should examine the results carefully, as you may still see some matches for something like a 3 1/2-inch wide belt or any belt with a 2-inch wide buckle.
Neither search is perfect, but should find you some results to look at. You will not see results if sellers do not include the width in inches, though, so you may also want to try something like this:
https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=5cm+wide+womens+belt&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&_odkw=two-inch+wide+womens+belt&_osacat=0&_sop=10
If you think keyword searching for belts by width is challenging, you should try searching for plastic tubing or o-rings that can be specified multiple different ways by fractional values of inner diameter, outer diameter and thickness.
