I want to contact a seller and discuss my problem before I leave feedback. I click on contact seller but can't seem to locate an area that will let me type a message.

If you are using the new messaging system, start typing where it says SEND MESSAGE. The area will enlarge as you type. When done typing, click on that "paper airplane" looking arrow on the right side to send the message.
