I am shipping a framed picture with glass, how do I calculate shipping

·3 years agoIf the picture is bigger than 12 inches, the glass probably won't survive.
First, find a box that will adequately protect the picture. Use cardboard sheets to fill up the depth inside the face of the frame and to protect the back side. If the box is larger than 22 inches, USPS will add a surcharge. If larger than 30", then a larger surcharge.
Weigh the package and measure height, width, and depth at the fattest dimensions, rounding up. eBay's shipping calculator will show the various rates for various cities for USPS, UPS, and FedEx.

Even if you ship without the glass, there is a potential for mishap. I had a large painting shipped to me and FedEx drove a florklift blade all the way through the box and canvas painting.
