I am considering closing my account over a professional scamer seller on ebay

A seller on ebay sent me a fraudulent ups label i dropped of the packege for return at ups store with the label the seller provided. Because the label was fruadulent ups conficated the package and it was not returned to the seller. Now they won't give me an refund because they claim i didn't send the package back. I have the receipt from ups store and tracking number they gave me. why should i be responsible for the package not being returned ? I turned custody of the package over to ups with the label the seller sent me. I am not responsible for the loss of this package. I think the vendor did this on purpose to avoid a refund. Does anyone have similar experience like this with a seller. its a new scam for me i never saw this trick used before.
