I am a new seller. An item was sent through the US Postal Service & arrived broken What's next?
Where do I find out what to do next when an item is damaged in transit?
Thank you for any advice.

Mentor2 years ago@bear82008 The first thing you do is apologize to the buyer and let them know that they will receive a full refund. Ask the buyer for photos of the box, the item and the packing material and hold on to all items in case USPS wants to see them.
You can't force the buyer to send the photos so apologize and ask nicely.
Then you use those to file your insurance claim on the USPS site.

If the item was not packaged correctly then USPS will not pay out your claim.
You do need to refund the buyer ASAP, ask them to file a refund request > arrived damaged. Then you select issue refund from the case.
The buyer does NOT wait for the insurance payout if any.
AFTER you have made the buyer happy you can try asking them for a feedback revision.
