Hi @cencal75
Since the buyer is happy and has already left positive feedback, you probably won’t run into any issues. But here are a few things to keep in mind:
What Happens Next?
Skipping eBay’s Authenticity Guarantee
If your cards were eligible for eBay’s Authenticity Guarantee but didn’t go through the process, eBay might still reach out to you or the buyer.
That said, since the buyer got the cards and is happy, it’s unlikely eBay will take any action.
No Payment Holds or Penalties
As long as the buyer has no complaints and the transaction is marked as complete, you should receive your funds as usual.
eBay doesn’t automatically reverse payments just because authentication was skipped, especially if the buyer is satisfied.
Possible Risks for Future Sales
If eBay notices that authentication was bypassed, they could issue a warning or, in rare cases, limit your selling privileges.
In very uncommon situations, eBay might force a return, but since the buyer left positive feedback, that’s highly unlikely.
What Should You Do?
- Keep records – Save messages, tracking info, and feedback in case there’s any issue later. - Be upfront next time – If this ever happens again, consider letting eBay know to stay in good standing. - Follow authentication steps in the future – It helps protect both you and the buyer.
Since this one worked out fine, you’re probably in the clear, but it’s always good to be aware of eBay’s policies just in case. Hope this helps!
