I accepted an offer, now pending awaiting payment for a week
I accepted a buyer’s offer and now it’s showing as pending and awaiting payment for a week. The item is still active and I don’t see the sale in my orders. If the buyer doesn’t pay, can I cancel the order? How?

Mentor1 month agoThe item remains active until the buyer pays. Someone else can come along and buy it at full price. If it's been a week, see if the option to cancel because the buyer did not pay is there.

OP1 month agoThe item is still active, but i can’t change the price or send new offers. I’ve never cancelled a sale, so not sure where to find that option. Thanks for the reply.

Mentor1 month agoGo to where you see it pending. There should be an arrow or 3 dot menu with options there.

OP1 month agoI don’t see any arrows or dot menu in the Pending area of offers. This is the only place I can see anything about this sale. Just has a status of ‘awaiting payment’. I can’t even tell exactly when I accepted the offer here - I’m guessing it’s been a week.

Here is the page (desktop). I don't have any awaiting payment, but there is a menu where it says Actions. It should be there.

OP1 month agoJust checked my email to verify when I received a counter offer from the buyer. Today is the 4th day after I accepted. Maybe I’ll see an option to cancel tomorrow.

Mentor1 month agoYes, buyers have 4 days to pay, so you will see the option to cancel with buyer didn't pay after that. The buyer will receive a strike on their account; 2 of those in a year keep them from bidding and making offers.

OP1 month agoThank you for the link to Seller Hub. I didn't know that existed. It looks like the offer I accepted is now expired (maybe because it was day 4?). I still see it in the 'Offers: Completed' section with an 'awaiting payment' status. I thought a buyer was obligated to a purchase if they sent an offer/counteroffer and I accept their offer.

Mentor1 month ago@victorkewl You can set up your account to make buyers pay immediately after an offer is accepted:
How to Turn It On
Go to your eBay Seller Hub.
Navigate to your Buyer Management or Buyer Requirements settings (often found under Site Preferences or Buyer Payment Requirements).
Scroll down to the buyer payment rules section.
Check the box labeled "Require buyers to provide a payment method before they make an offer".
Save your changes. [1, 2, 3]
**You still need to give that buyer a strike by choosing buyer did not pay
