How to use shipping for large items such as furniture.

I want to list a large murphy bed but not sure how to charge shipping and what type of shipping to use if it gets purchased out of my state area

You should offer it for local pickup only. Freight shipping is expensive, and, if you have never arrange freight it is not an easy process.

If you want to offer freight, contact a few local freight companies and find one that can handle a shipment from a residential location (this requires a truck with a lift gate). Then ask about crating, which will be another large expense. You need a company that handle the crating and shipping for you.They will need the dimensions and a rough idea of the weight.

Then when the item sells, you get a quote to the buyerâ€™s specific location and send an invoice with the actual shipping cost.
